Abandoned by those he loved most, Onyx was left to fend for himself in the backyard. By the time he was rescued this Pit bull terrier mix was starving for attention and food. Although he barely had enough energy, this thin 11-month-old pup greeted his rescuer with a dog smile and a soft tail wag and was begging for help. After loosing everything, he is ready to give anything for a new family who will love him forever.
These days, he boasts a bubbly personality and fly away ears which capture his carefree attitude towards life. Although pit bulls have a bad reputation, he has proven himself to be an ambassador of the breed and he is always happy to accept belly rubs as a token of appreciation for the abundance of sweet kisses that he shares freely. Being a happy-go-lucky dog, he loves to have fun and he is passionate about brisk evening walks, toys that squeak and Kong toys filled with enticing treats. He has enough endurance to out run a horse, and would appreciate an athletic companion who will fill his days with exhausting but fun activities. After a long day of excitement, he’s happy to unwind while watching a good movie on the couch with his owner.
Onyx has an overall gentle personality but he hasn’t been around kids. He is great with other friendly canines but has yet to meet a feline whisker to whisker. A family introduction is required.
He is available NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Sunnyslope facility located at 9226 North 13th Ave in Phoenix. His adoption fee is $35 since he is a member of the exclusive Lonely Hearts club. This fee includes his neuter surgery, vaccines, a colorful collar and leash with an AHS I.D. tag and a follow-up veterinary exam.
