John Fogerty discusses radio, songwriting, and inspiration in a classic 1997 interview.In October of 1989, [lastfm]John Fogerty[/lastfm] was sued by his former label chief, Saul Zaentz, for allegedly plagiarizing…himself! Specifically, Fogerty was accused of rewriting his [lastfm]Creedence Clearwater Revival[/lastfm] song “Run Through The Jungle” for his 1985 hit “The Old Man Down The Road.” Fogerty eventually won the suit, after taking the stand with his guitar and proving that the songs are different.Fogerty was in good spirits when he visited New York City radio station WNEW in 1997. During the interview he talked about his inspiration for songs, and hearing himself on the radio for the first time.
