This Saturday is a very special day: the dedication of the Enduring Freedom Memorial, st 10:00 a.m., at Wesley Bolin Plazza.
The Enduring Freedom Memorial is dedicated in honor of our men and women from Arizona serving in our armed forces who lost their lives fighting terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan and throughout the Southwest Asia Theatre of Operation.
It also symbolizes our gratitude and respect for those who have and continue to protect our families, our friends and our Nation’s freedom in the global war on terrorism. The emcee will be Brigadier General Gregg Maxon, Arizona Army National Guard (Ret). Speakers will include; Honorable Janice K. Brewer, Governor, Col. Joey Strickland, USA (Ret) Director, Arizona Dept of Veterans’ Services, Mrs. Terry Schall, Gold Star Mother, Mr. Ross Morgan, Enduring Freedom Memorial Artist.
The Enduring Freedom Memorial is a tribute of profound simplicity, calmly awakening the emotions of patriotism, respect and quiet reflection.
Be there for the dedication this Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 10 a.m., at the Arizona State Capital, Wesley Bolin Plaza, 1700 W. Washington St.in Phoenix.
