The Arizona Wildcats moved into the rankings this week after last Friday’s 41-2 road win over Toledo.
The latest USA Today coaches poll, released Monday morning, has the Wildcats 23rd in the nation.
At the top of the rankings, Alabama holds on to the No. 1 spot, and Ohio State is still No. 2 but Boise State is now No. 3 after picking up some more votes following its 33-30 win over Virginia Tech is what was basically a road game for the Broncos.
On six of the coaches ballots, Boise State was second.
Texas stood pat at No. 4, while Texas Christian, 30-21 winners over Oregon State in Dallas Saturday, has moved up to No. 5.
Also new to the rankings: BYU at No. 24 and South Carolina at No. 25.
In the ‘others receiving votes’ category, ASU got seven votes after its 54-9 home win over Portland State, one more than in the preseason poll.
In the Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Wildcats got 30 votes and is in the ‘others receiving votes’ category, which means they’re basically ranked 32nd.
