In the mid 80’s, [lastfm]Julian Lennon[/lastfm] came to Symphony Hall, singing his hits Valotte and Too Late For Goodbyes – even sang a couple of [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm] rockers. Great show. Then he seemed to fall off the face of the earth. Today I found out that on May 13 Julian announced the establishment of a grant for lupus research in honor of the woman who inspired [lastfm]The Beatles[/lastfm] song ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’. Lucy Vodden died last year from the disease.
During the Lupus Foundation of America’s Butterfly Gala, Julian also performed “Lucy”, a song he recorded with singer-songwriter James Scott Cook. Click more to see a sample from the evening.
